Basketball Recap: Northwest Guilford's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Northwest Guilford was the 57-55 winner over Grimsley when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Northwest Guilford Vikings took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grimsley Whirlies on Tuesday. The Vikings' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Grimsley found their leader in freshman Isaiah Whitsett, who went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points. Henry Trent was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Northwest Guilford's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Grimsley, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6.

Northwest Guilford has already played their next game (against Northern Guilford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Grimsley will host Ragsdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Grimsley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Ragsdale likes a good challenge.
