Softball Recap: Casteel Comes Up Short

Casteel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Notre Dame Prep Saints.

Winter Melendez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That home run was her first of the season.

Casteel's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Notre Dame Prep, they pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Casteel will welcome Hamilton at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Huskies' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Colts' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Notre Dame Prep, they will be playing at home against Arizona College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
