Woodhaven had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged out the Franklin Patriots 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won five games in a row.

Kaden Newsted tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Woodhaven saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Moritz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Woodhaven's victory bumped their record up to 33-8-1. As for Franklin, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 33-7-1 record.

As of now, neither Woodhaven nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
