After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Satellite, Central was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Okeechobee Brahmans 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cobras have posted since April 19, 2024.
Jarret Myers made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).
In other pitching news, Central got a great performance from Justin Glickman as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Those hits marked the first that Glickman allowed this season.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Charles Singletary, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-6. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominick Grimaldi, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.
The victory got Central back to even at 7-7-1. As for Okeechobee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
