Softball Game Preview: Yoakum Bulldogs vs. Hallettsville Brahmas

Yoakum hasn't had much luck against Hallettsville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Brahmas at 7:00 p.m. Yoakum will be strutting in after a victory while Hallettsville will be coming in after a defeat.

Yoakum took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Industrial, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cobras on Friday, sneaking past 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since February 24, 2024.

Meanwhile, Hallettsville entered their matchup against Columbus on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Brahmas fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Brahmas couldn't push the score so high this time.

Grace Halata spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Hallettsville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macey Pustka, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Hallettsville's defeat dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Yoakum, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
