Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Philip Borchers and Matthew Goodwin Lead Rocket City to Victory

Rocket City waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past Varsity Opponent 56-36. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Rocket City was led to victory by Matthew Goodwin and Philip Borchers. Goodwin went 7-for-8 to rack up 17 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Borchers shot 62% from the field en route to 17 points. Thanks to that strong game, Goodwin now owns an excellent 49.3% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of MJ Friend, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Rocket City's victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Coming up, Rocket City will head out to challenge Cornerstone Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 86-30 defeat against New Life Academy on the 18th.
