Softball Recap: Berlin Takes a Loss

Enfield hit Berlin with a four-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Redcoats came up short against the Eagles, falling 6-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Redcoats were not able to get on the board.

Callie Jehning spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

Berlin is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4. As for Enfield, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Berlin will venture away from home to face off against Plainville at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Enfield, they have already played their next game, an 8-2 win against RHAM on the 23rd.
