Basketball Game Preview: Lubbock Westerners vs. Lubbock-Cooper Pirates

Lubbock hasn't had much luck against Lubbock-Cooper recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lubbock Westerners will welcome the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates at 7:30 p.m.

Lubbock is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Tuesday. They were beaten by Amarillo 65-32. While losing is never fun, the Westerners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 807th, while the Sandies are ranked 37th).

Meanwhile, Lubbock-Cooper had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Longhorns by a score of 72-61.

Lubbock's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Lubbock-Cooper, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.
