Volleyball Recap: Cassville Comes Up Short

Cassville had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it seven. They came up short against the Potosi Chieftains, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Comets of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Brielle Fishnick paced Cassville's offense, picking up seven kills. Fishnick got some help from Jocelyn Adrian and her 13 assists. Adrian also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jacie Mergen, racking up two apiece.

As for Potosi, their record now sits at 4-1. That three set margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Potosi was led to victory by Kylee Droessler and Emily Schaefer. Droessler had 22 digs and six aces, while Schaefer had seven digs, seven aces, and two blocks. Droessler has been hot recently, having posted 22 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Cassville has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Highland on the 11th. As for Potosi, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Benton on the 11th.
