Soccer Game Preview: Cypress Woods vs. Waller

The Cypress Woods Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Waller Bulldogs at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Cypress Woods' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Grand Oaks out 1-0.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Waller sidestepped Clear Creek for a 1-0 win. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Waller is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four matches. As for Cypress Woods, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
