Soccer Game Preview: Southside Christian vs. Christ Church Episcopal

Southside Christian is 2-8 against Christ Church Episcopal since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sabres will challenge the Cavaliers at 8:00 p.m. Southside Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

If Christ Church Episcopal heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Southside Christian took over last week. The Sabres won by a goal and slipped past Palmetto 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for Southside Christian as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Christ Church Episcopal extended their postseason success on Friday against Chapman. Their defense stepped up to hand the Panthers a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Christ Church Episcopal, who have now won 12 matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Christ Church Episcopal has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those nine contests. As for Southside Christian, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9.

Southside Christian might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Christ Church Episcopal in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Sabres avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
