Petal was the 2-2 winner over Northwest Rankin when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The loss was Petal's first of the season.

Petal's defeat dropped their record down to 10-1-1. As for Northwest Rankin, their record now sits at 6-0-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Petal will head out to face off against Brandon at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Petal are facing Brandon at the right time seeing as Brandon are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Northwest Rankin, they will venture away from home to challenge Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northwest Rankin will be up against Meridian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.63 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
