Soccer Game Preview: West Ashley vs. Stall

The West Ashley Wildcats will challenge the Stall Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for West Ashley's offense. They fell just short of James Island by a score of 1-0 last Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for West Ashley in their meetings with James Island: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Stall came up short against Ashley Ridge last Friday and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, Stall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Ashley Ridge are ranked fourth).

West Ashley now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Stall, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Everything went West Ashley's way against Stall when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as West Ashley made off with a 4-1 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
