Baseball Game Preview: Magdalena Steers vs. Grady Bronchos

Magdalena is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Grady Bronchos at 2:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Magdalena has three straight victories, Grady has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Saturday, Magdalena got the win against Zuni by a conclusive 11-1. The Steers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Mathew Lopez was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Josh Vigil, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Grady lost 13-6 to Eunice last Friday.

Grady's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Magdalena, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Magdalena came up short against Grady when the teams last played back in March, falling 4-0. Can the Steers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
