Recap: Neosho Wildcats vs. McDonald County Mustangs
If the Neosho Wildcats were feeling good off their 53-30 takedown of the Parkview Vikings on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Neosho was dealt a 58-22 loss at the hands of McDonald County on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Neosho can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while McDonald County is ranked 33rd).
McDonald County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamie Washam, who scored 10 points along with 9 steals and 6 rebounds. The matchup was Washam's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlee Cooper, who scored 12 points along with 5 steals.
Neosho now has a losing record at 2-3. As for McDonald County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neosho will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Monett at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th. As for McDonald County, they will be playing at home against Shiloh Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
