Football Recap: West Wilkes Comes Up Short

West Wilkes and North Surry pushed the score to 34-28 the last time they played North Surry, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Blackhawks fell 7-3 to the Greyhounds. Having soared to a lofty 64 points in the game before, the Blackhawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

West Wilkes' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for North Surry, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Wilkes will venture away from home to challenge Surry Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Surry, they will take on Patrick County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
