Preview: Fairview Apaches vs. Paulding Panthers
Fairview has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Paulding Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Paulding took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Fairview, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Fairview beat the Wildcats 50-41.
Meanwhile, Paulding ended up a good deal behind the Panthers on Tuesday and lost 41-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Paulding has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Paulding saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kayleigh Dunham, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and three blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Dunham has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tori Schlatter, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Paulding struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Fairview has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Paulding, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Fairview took their win against the Panthers in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 by a conclusive 67-41. Does Fairview have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
