Softball Game Preview: Galesburg Silver Streaks vs. Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes

The Galesburg Silver Streaks will venture away from home to take on the Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Galesburg is looking for their season's first victory.

Galesburg came up short against Rochester on Saturday, falling 23-2.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Abingdon/Avon's offense. They lost 11-0 to Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] on Saturday. The Tornadoes have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Galesburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-29. As for Abingdon/Avon, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.

Galesburg couldn't quite finish off Abingdon/Avon in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 and fell 9-7. Can the Silver Streaks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
