After losing to Lathrop the last time they met, Penney decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Penney Hornets skirted past the Lathrop Mules 40-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Penney's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 8-9. As for Lathrop, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Penney will welcome Maysville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Maysville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. Lathrop has already played their next matchup (against Trenton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
