Basketball Game Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Rapid City Central Cobblers

Having just played yesterday, the Roosevelt Rough Riders will head out on the road to face off against the Rapid City Central Cobblers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Roosevelt has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row dating back to last season, Roosevelt turned things around against Stevens on Friday. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 59-47.

Meanwhile, Rapid City Central hadn't done well against Jefferson recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Rapid City Central walked away with a 57-46 win over Jefferson. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Cobblers considering their 26-point performance the contest before.

Roosevelt's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Rapid City Central, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

Everything went Roosevelt's way against Rapid City Central in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Roosevelt made off with a 67-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roosevelt since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
