Softball Recap: Blissfield Has No Trouble Against Hillsdale

Blissfield won the last time they faced Hillsdale and things went their way on Friday too. The Royals blew past the Hornets 18-3. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Royals this season.

The team relied heavily on Kaitlin Bloom, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Busdieker, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Blissfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Blissfield back to even at 6-6. As for Hillsdale, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Blissfield and Hillsdale could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Royals will take on Milan at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (257 vs. 92). Meanwhile, Hillsdale (ranked 483rd) will meet Hanover-Horton (ranked 68th) at 12:00 p.m. on the 31st.
