Softball Game Preview: Roane County Raiders vs. Richwood Lumberjacks

The Roane County Raiders will take on the Richwood Lumberjacks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Richwood took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Roane County, who comes in off a win.

Roane County not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024. Everything went their way against Wirt County as Roane County made off with a 15-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Autumn Craft was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Elizabeth Greathouse was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Roane County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wirt County only posted a batting average of .292.

Meanwhile, Richwood unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 14-1 to Oak Hill on Wednesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.
