League recap: Chirpich overpowering for Fairmont in past week

South Central league recap: 5/30/13

Spencer Chirpich was the best pitcher in South Central this week, leading Fairmont. He won one game and struck out 14 batters.

Mitch Pfingsten was on fire this week, as he led the league with a .500 average with eight RBIs. Meanwhile, the Cardinals put together a 3-0 week.

Fairmont's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing eight hits and five walks to lead the league in both categories.

The league boasted four .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Mitch Pfingsten, who hit .500 by going 5-for-10.

The Cardinals' Pfingsten racked up eight RBIs this week, more than any other hitter. Pfingsten has 29 RBIs this season, first in the league.



Fairmont's Luke Becker threw seven shutout innings in a 1-0 win over Blue Earth on Saturday. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out nine, while giving up three hits.
