Football Game Preview: Huntingdon Mustangs vs. Lewis County Panthers + How To Watch

The Huntingdon Mustangs will head out to challenge the Lewis County Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntingdon will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Huntingdon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 22-12 victory over Memphis Business Academy. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Execs are ranked 144th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Huntingdon's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. Broox Bennett was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, while Lewis County put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Houston County. The Panthers took their matchup with ease, bagging a 37-0 win over the Fighting Irish. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 29 points or more this season.

Huntingdon better keep an eye on Drew Ray. He was instrumental in Lewis County's win, rushing for 246 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. Ray is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last ten games he's played.

Lewis County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 271 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.

Huntingdon's record is now 10-1. As for Lewis County, their record now sits at an identical 10-1.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Huntingdon has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 237.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lewis County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 195.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
