Hurricanes are way out in front when it comes to football recruiting for the 2016 class.

When it comes to recruiting for the Class of 2016, Miami is way ahead of the field.

The Hurricanes have the No. 1-ranked recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports, with a whopping 18 commitments despite over 11 months remaining until National Signing Day.

No other school has more than 11 commits.

Behind Miami are Ole Miss and Florida State at Nos. 2 and No. 3, respectively, while LSU and Kentucky round out the Top 5.

Perennial recruiting champion Alabama sits at No. 17 with only four commits thus far.

St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) receiver Sam Bruce and Oakleaf (Orange Park, Fla.) linebacker Shaquille Quarterman are the two most highly rated recruits in the class, according to 247Sports, each ranking inside the Top 100.

They lead the group that is known on social media as "Swag16."

Miami is also making waves in the Class of 2017. It recently gained a commitment from highly coveted running back Robert Burns, giving it its fourth commit in that class.
