Softball Recap: Mt. Zion's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mt. Zion entered their tilt with Richland County on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Tigers 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won 18 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Ella Fink made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fink was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 contests.

In other batting news, Mt. Zion let Ana Kanemaru and Molly Doolin run wild. Kanemaru went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Doolin went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Doolin has posted over her last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Ellie Green, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Mt. Zion kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive matches.

Mt. Zion's win bumped their record up to 22-9. As for Richland County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10.

Coming up, Mt. Zion will host Glenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something the Braves surely won't give up without a fight. Richland County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
