Recap: Bluffton Pirates vs. Leipsic Vikings
The Bluffton Pirates lost a heartbreaker to the Leipsic Vikings when they met back in January of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Thursday. Bluffton fell 51-39 to Leipsic. Bluffton has struggled against Leipsic recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Bluffton still got an impressive performance from Ayla Grandey, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ashley Fleece, who scored five points.
Bluffton has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Leipsic, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bluffton will challenge Pandora-Gilboa at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Leipsic, they will head out on the road to challenge Allen East at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Allen East presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Leipsic in Ohio (Allen East is ranked 171st, while Leipsic is ranked 421st).
