Baseball Recap: Manchester Central Drops Season-High Score on Nashua South

Manchester Central extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-18 in the process. They lost 16-5 to the Nashua South Purple Panthers. On the bright side, the five- run performance marked the Little Green's highest-scoring match to date.

As for Nashua South, their win bumped their record up to 7-13. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded them with their most commanding win of the season.

For Nashua South's part, Max Demers made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Demers has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Nashua South got a massive performance out of Nick Sanossian, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Sanossian a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Ninteau, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

While Manchester Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
