Football Recap: Grace's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

If Santa Clara wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Grace, they should've done a better job of containing RIley Williams. The Lancers took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 64-12 win over the Saints for which the team can thank Williams, who threw for 258 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Charlie Martinez was another key player, picking up 110 receiving yards and a pair of scores. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 75 yards.

Grace didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mikey Lerch and Tristan Minsky.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Grace, bringing their record up to 7-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.8 points. As for Santa Clara, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coming up, Grace will be playing at home against Rialto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Santa Clara does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
