Softball Recap: Hemphill Takes a Loss

If Hemphill was riding high fresh off their 14-0 takedown of Burkeville last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets lost 13-5 to the West Sabine Tigers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 back in March.

Hemphill has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12-1 record this season. As for West Sabine, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Hemphill and West Sabine will both be playing Colmesneil the next time they take the field. The Hornets will host the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
