Basketball Recap: Sprague's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

Sprague was the 73-59 winner over South Salem when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sprague Olympians fell 87-76 to the South Salem Saxons on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Olympians came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Saxons are ranked 65th).

Sprague moved to 7-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for South Salem, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sprague will venture away from home to face off against Lake Oswego at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Salem, they and North Salem will meet in a classic North v. South matchup at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
