The Petrolia Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Archer City Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Petrolia has seven straight victories, Archer City has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Petrolia took their matchup with ease, bagging a 53-14 win over Munday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Petrolia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kason Gee, who rushed for 216 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. Those 216 rushing yards gave Gee a new career-high. Brodie Jackson was another key player, rushing for 154 yards and three scores on only 14 carries.

However, it's not like Archer City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 182.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Petrolia couldn't quite get it done against Archer City when the teams last played back in November of 2024 as they fell 34-22. Thankfully for the Pirates, Landon Smith (who rushed for 183 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
