Volleyball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Slippery Rock Rockets. The Knights have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Franklin ultimately came up short, they really made Slippery Rock work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-20, 25-20.

Lexi Caldwell had a dynamite game For Slippery Rock., getting four aces, three digs, and one block. Caldwell has been hot recently, having also posted 23 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Slippery Rock, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Franklin will take on rival Mercer at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Slippery Rock is set to square off against their familiar foe Grove City at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
