Severn School is 2-8 against St. Mary since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Admirals will challenge the Saints at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Severn School was able to grind out a solid win over Our Lady of Mount Carmel, taking the game 28-15.

Severn School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ty Bussard, who threw for 287 yards and three TDs while completing 81.5% of his passes. What's more, Bussard racked up 151.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Fowler, who rushed for 144 yards on only five carries.
Severn School was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 385 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's faced Mount St. Joseph in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Saints came out on top against the Gaels by a score of 20-7. Winning may never get old, but the Saints sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Severn School better keep an eye on Jamal Epps. He was instrumental in St. Mary's win, rushing for 60 yards and a pair of scores.
St. Mary's didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Thomas Will, Dominic Scali, and Anai Day picked up one apiece. Scali got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
St. Mary's record is now 6-3. As for Severn School, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-5.

It's a different story for St. Mary's, though, as they've been averaging only 229.6 total yards. Will Severn School be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Saints flip the script?
