Preview: Baker Buffaloes vs. Central Wildcats
The Baker Buffaloes will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Central Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Baker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Central is ranked 61st).
Last Wednesday, things could have been worse for Baker, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-41 loss to Istrouma.
Meanwhile, Central came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against St. Martinville by a score of 52-43.
Baker bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Baker beat Central 59-51 in their previous meeting back in December of 2019. Will Baker repeat their success, or does Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
