Baseball Game Preview: Priory Panthers vs. Harker Eagles

For the second straight game, Priory will face off against Harker. The Panthers will square off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Priory is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Priory earned a 4-1 win over Harker. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

James Weaver was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Priory is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Weaver was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Lincoln Barnard and Harrison Kim did most of the damage at the plate: Barnard went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Kim went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two hits gave Barnard a new career-high.

Priory was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Priory now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Harker, they moved to 8-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Harker's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Priory hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324.
