Baseball Recap: Easton Fry Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Olympus

Brighton had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Olympus Titans get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won seven in a row.

Josh Mawhinney tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Easton Fry was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of River Schmidt, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Brighton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April.

Brighton's win bumped their record up to 25-3. As for Olympus, the loss snapped their winning streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 20-8 record.

As of now, neither Brighton nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
