Softball Game Preview: Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks vs. Belle Plaine Plainsmen

Colfax-Mingo is on a 13-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Belle Plaine an eight-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks will be playing at home against the Belle Plaine Plainsmen at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Colfax-Mingo made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Madrid, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigerhawks fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-2 on Saturday.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Belle Plaine and Lynnville-Sully had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Plainsmen came up short against the Hawks on Saturday, falling 19-2.

Colfax-Mingo's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Belle Plaine, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Colfax-Mingo couldn't quite get it done against Belle Plaine in their previous meeting back in June of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Tigerhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
