Basketball Recap: Port Washington Takes Down East Meadow in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Port Washington rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the East Meadow Jets by a score of 58-50. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Jets are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Port Washington, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for East Meadow, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 16 games and leaves them with a 19-4 record.

Coming up, Port Washington will challenge Half Hollow Hills East at 1:30 p.m. on March 16th. One thing working in Half Hollow Hills East's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. East Meadow does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
