Basketball Game Preview: Coopersville Broncos vs. Newaygo Lions

The Coopersville Broncos are taking a road trip to challenge the Newaygo Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coopersville has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with six straight defeats, while Newaygo will come in with three straight wins.

Last Thursday, Coopersville lost to Kenowa Hills at home by a 50-32 margin. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Knights are ranked 112th).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Newaygo beat Chippewa Hills 41-37 on Friday.

Coopersville's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Newaygo, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coopersville strolled past Newaygo in their previous meeting back in March of 2019 by a score of 45-29. Does Coopersville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Newaygo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
