Recap: Rampart Rams vs. Doherty Spartans
The Rampart Rams lost against the Doherty Spartans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Rampart fell 57-49 to Doherty. Rampart has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rampart's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Huxtable, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Huxtable has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Cailyn Jones was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Rampart has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Doherty, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rampart will take on Pine Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Doherty, they will be playing at home against Fountain-Fort Carson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fountain-Fort Carson is coming into the contest with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Doherty will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
