Baseball Recap: Valders Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

After losing to Roncalli the last time they met, Valders decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Vikings came out on top against the Jets on Thursday by a score of 4-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Austin Ebert made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has become a key player for Valders: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise. Ebert was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Jack Wendling was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Valders is undefeated when Wendling posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Carter Valleskey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Valders is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Roncalli, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Valders will take on Kohler at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Roncalli, they will face off against Hilbert at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
