Soccer Recap: Downers Grove North Takes a Loss

After flying high against Round Lake on Monday, Downers Grove North came back down to earth. The Trojans fell just short of the Wheaton North Falcons by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Downers Grove North came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Wheaton North are ranked 315th).

Downers Grove North's goal came courtesy of Oliver Davies, who's now up to six this season.

Downers Grove North's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Wheaton North, they moved to 2-8 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Downers Grove North will head out to take on Bartlett at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wheaton North, they will take on St. Charles East at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Charles East's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
