Recap: Bunn Wildcats vs. East Wake Academy Eagles
The Bunn Wildcats's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 43-33 win over East Wake Academy. That's another feather in the cap for Bunn, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Jameir Strickland was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Domantea Cooke, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
The win got Bunn back to even at 5-5. As for East Wake Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Bunn won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rolesville at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Rolesville is ranked 437th, while Bunn is ranked 443rd). As for East Wake Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Princeton at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
