Baseball Recap: Legion Collegiate Academy Comes Up Short

Legion Collegiate Academy managed to slip by Varsity Opponent the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lancers came up short against Varsity Opponent on Friday, falling 9-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Lancers were not able to get on the board.

Legion Collegiate Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Iannetto, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Iannetto has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Legion Collegiate Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Legion Collegiate Academy will be playing at home against Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Lancers have won three straight at home, while the Landsharks won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Geneva on the 4th.
