Baseball Recap: Tesoro Comes Up Short

Tesoro extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 7-9-1. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the San Clemente Tritons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tritons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 on Tuesday.

As for San Clemente, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games.

For San Clemente's part, Easton Muraira spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Jake Starling was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

While Tesoro had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
