Powell is a perfect 6-0 against Union County since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Powell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Powell took on Knoxville Central on Thursday. The Panthers fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Langston Coggins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nevaeh Wells was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Union County never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Claiborne on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Patriots have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Union County pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Powell, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Everything went Powell's way against Union County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Powell made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
