Basketball Recap: South Spencer Comes Up Short

South Spencer suffered their closest defeat since January 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the South Central Rebels by a score of 42-40. South Spencer was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Despite the defeat, South Spencer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alexis Harris went 5 for 9 en route to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylea Donoho, who posted no points and 12 rebounds.

With the loss, South Spencer broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-7. As for South Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.

South Spencer will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Southridge at 7:00 p.m. As for South Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Paoli at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
