Recap: Brandon Academy Scorpions vs. Bloomingdale Bulls
The Brandon Academy Scorpions couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They suffered a rough 67-47 loss at the hands of Bloomingdale on Monday. Brandon Academy lost against Bloomingdale in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 56-42 score last time.
Brandon Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyshaun Tims, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shavon Birch, who scored 5 points along with 6 rebounds.
Brandon Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Bloomingdale, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brandon Academy will face off against North Tampa Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Tampa Christian Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Bloomingdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Brandon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
