Baseball Recap: Randolph-Macon Academy Has No Trouble Against the Carmel School

Randolph-Macon Academy never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against The Carmel School on Monday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 12-1 win. That looming 12-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Yellow Jackets yet this season.

Finn Strabley made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

In other pitching news, Randolph-Macon Academy got a great performance from Thomas Glasgow as he struck out 12 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave Glasgow a new career-high.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Owen Warner, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Randolph-Macon Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0-1. As for The Carmel School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Randolph-Macon Academy will face off against Mountain View Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Carmel School, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-5 loss against Colonial Beach on the 2nd.
